Behind the Studio: ThisNotThat Opens New Studio as Midlands Hub
We’ve made our mark in the Midlands with the opening of our brand new Studio in Raunds, Northamptonshire, which is set to serve as our new hub for the Midlands. A milestone we’re incredibly proud of.
Establishing a dedicated space here, putting us closer to the vibrant, ambitious business of the region, felt like a natural next step for us. Today, we’re giving you a look inside our new Studio and the thinking behind its design.
At ThisNotThat, our priority is simple: produce work that is exceptional. But what really constitutes exceptional?
For us, it starts with collaboration. Great ideas come from a tapestry of different skills, perspectives, and experiences, working together towards a shared goal. That’s why we don’t see our clients as just clients. Our relationships are more than just transactions, they’re partnerships.
This philosophy shaped every decision that went into designing our new Midlands space. We wanted an environment built for collaboration, somewhere our team and our partners feel energised, inspired, and ready to explore ideas together.
At the heart of the Studio is our communal meeting table, accented with the signature ThisNotThat blue. Nearby, a west wall is lined with oversized linen pinboards - an evolving canvas of inspiration, in-progress concepts, and finished work. During meetings, these pinboards become the centrepiece; it’s not unusual for everyone to end up on their feet, pointing, rearranging, pinning, and sparking new ideas right there in the moment.

ThisNotThat Midlands Office
The momentum continues throughout the space. Shelves are stacked with creative tools - magazines, cameras, notebooks. And because great ideas often begin with a great cup of coffee, our designated coffee station has already welcomed a wide variety of orders from partners and creatives alike.
We wanted the space to warm, inviting, and genuinely enjoyable to walk into every morning. So we steered away from harsh overhead lighting in favour of softer, layered light that keeps the space feeling human. It’s not corporate or clinical; it’s a place where ideas can flow easily.
We designed this office to be more than a workplace. It’s a studio for making exciting things happen, a space where creativity feels natural, partnership feels easy, and great work feels inevitable.
We can’t wait to welcome more people in.
